Having graduated in Economics & Politics, Simon originally trained as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Young (Ernst & Young) before moving into recruitment in 1991 where he soon began specialising within the Public Practice Market.

In 1994 Simon joined a leading financial recruitment consultancy to establish a Public Practice recruitment team which was successfully grown to be a market leader within London and the South East. As a Director, Simon worked closely with all the major accounting practices recruiting from junior to Partner level across all the major disciplines.

In 2002 Simon established Ward Simpson to focus on senior level search assignments, with a particular emphasis on specialist departments within the profession.

With over 20 years experience of working within public practice and public practice recruitment Simon has an extensive understanding of the market and a far-reaching personal network.

Peter Lockhart has been recruiting in the Public Practice and Corporate Recovery sector since 1997.

His background is in Corporate Recovery and Forensic Accounting and after graduating Peter trained with the specialist Insolvency practice, Buchler Philips (Kroll), in London for over 3 years. In this time he was exposed to all areas of Insolvency and assisted in the development of their Forensic practice. He has detailed knowledge of both of these market places.

Peter joined a leading financial recruitment consultancy in 1998 to recruit into the Public Practice market place and specialise in the niche areas of Recovery and Forensic accounting.

In that time he successfully recruited at all levels up to Partnership and developed relationships with clients from Top 4 to niche specialists firms.

Most recently Peter successfully set up a Public Practice division for an Australian recruitment firm in Sydney. Having returned to the Uk Peter has been working with Ward Simpson since 2003.

From a clients’ perspective his technical knowledge and understanding is invaluable. Candidates can be assured of full market coverage and the utmost confidentiality, which in these close-knit business communities is vital during a job search or careers enquiry.

Sean McManus

Sean has been in the recruitment industry for 15 years having trained as a CA in a medium sized audit firm in London.

Having started with a major London Consultancy he moved to Australia in 1998 to open their Chartered Accountancy Business in both Sydney and Melbourne.

In 2006 Ward Simpson was opened in Sydney having been started in London 4 years earlier. Sean McManus , Simon Haynes and Peter Lockhart renewing their association from several years earlier.

Sean has a broad range of clients in Australia from Top 4 to smaller boutique firms, and recruits over the main technical specializations such as Audit, Business Services, Corporate and International Tax, Insolvency and Corporate Finance. Sean has  Mathematics degree from University College London.
